IELTS Results Check Process
Many people want to know how long the process of getting your result is once one has taken the IELTS exam. The truth is, it depends in the type of test as well as the test format you have taken, but generally, getting your IELTS result after the exam is quite easy. If you have taken the IELTS on paper, your test report form (TRF) will be available 13 days after you have completed the test.

If you have taken up the IELTS academic for UKVI or the IELTS general training for UKVI tests, then you can view your test results 13 days after you complete the test.
4. Life Skills For UKVI
If you have taken the life skills A1, A2 or B1 tests, then you can view your results 7 days after you complete the test.

The overall band score that calculated from the listening, reading, writing and speaking test is rated at 9. Here is an explanation of what each band score means in terms of your skill:
1. Band 9
The band score of 9 means that you are an expert user, you have a full operational command of the language. Your use of English is appropriate, accurate and fluent and you show complete understanding.
2. Band 8
The band score of 8 means that you are a very good user. You have a fully operational command of the language with only occasional unsystematic inaccuracies and inappropriate usage. You may misunderstand some things in unfamiliar situations. You handle complex detailed argumentation well.
3. Band 7
The band score of 7 means that you are a good user. You have an operational command of the language, though with occasional inaccuracies, inappropriate usage and misunderstandings in some situations. Generally, you handle complex language well and understand detailed reasoning.
4. Band 6
The band score of 6 means that you are a competent user. Generally, you have an effective command of the language despite some inaccuracies, inappropriate usage and misunderstandings. You can use and understand fairly complex language particularly in familiar situations.
5. Band 5
The band score of 5 means that you are a modest user. You have a partial command of the language, and cope with overall meaning in most situations, although you are likely to make many mistakes. You should be able to handle basic communication in your own field.
6. Band 4
The band score of 4 means that you are a limited user, your basic competence is limited to familiar situations. You are not able to use complex language.
7. Band 3
The band score of 3 means that you are an extremely limited user, you convert and understand only general meaning in very familiar situations.
8. Band 2
The band score of 2 means that you are an intermittent user, you have great difficulty understanding spoken and written English.
9. Band 1
If you get a band score of 1, it means that you are a non-user and you do not have the ability to use the English language except a few isolated words.
10. Band 0
It is almost impossible for one to get a band score of 0. It means that you did not attempt the test or you did not answer the questions.
IELTS Score Calculator
The individual IELTS scores for listening, reading, writing and speaking are all weighted equally. They are rated from 0-9, with increments of 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75.
The overall band score is then calculated by taking the mean result for all four parts of the test. This is calculated to the nearest whole or half band, with scores ending in .25 rounded up to the next half band and scores ending in .75 rounded up to the next whole band.
