JAMB Cut Off Mark:
Having an idea of what the cut off mark is for the university you are applying to would give you an idea of whether you stand a good chance of being admitted or not. Gone are those days when you need to score a minimum of about 180-200 to be admitted in a higher institution of learning, JAMB has now set its cut off mark as low as possible to be able to accommodate more students in higher institutions, another thing that can determine cut off mark is the pass rate of students in the examination.
Although people have criticized this because it gives room to admit incompetent students. This would actually help private schools admit as much candidates as they can because there is no much competition there.

Cut off mark help examination bodies pick the most competent students for admission basis. Every year, JAMB set a standard cut off mark that can help students get admitted into programs in different universities. This year, the official cut off mark for the UTME examination is set at 140.
